Infused SoE Principles
Infused Scholarship of Engagement Principles at the UWC
Recognising the importance of Scholarship of Engagement, the UWC embodies SoE in its executive level strategic decisions as implemented through:
i) its Institutional Operational Plan (IOP);
ii) its graduate attributes reflecting the university’s vision, ethos, and history;
iii) its innovative and socially transformative learning and teaching approach; and,
iv) research that is locally relevant and internationally significant.
The infused principle of CE at the UWC is reflected in its SoE model, which presents ‘engagement’ in five streams:
a) engagement through learning and teaching;
b) engaged research;
c) engagement with business, industry, and professional links (i.e. partnerships);
d) social and cultural engagement; and,
e) economic engagement.
